Tempeh starter (rhizopus spores, rice, soya) made in Belgium from non-GMO ingredients. The tempeh starter has a shelf life of 6 months. To be kept in the refrigerator.
Traditionally, tempeh is made from soybeans, but it can be made from any local legume such as lentils, chickpeas, black beans or peanuts. Fresh tempeh is much better than the usually pasteurised tempeh you can buy in the supermarket. It smells like a mix of mushrooms and apples, it has a soft texture and a taste of yeast, mushrooms and nuts.
With 10 grams of this tempeh starter, you can make up to 5 kg of tempeh, i. e. 50 round tempehs of 100 g, using our tempeh moulds.
